David Pinckard spoke to us here at WriteUpp about his experience with practice management software and how it has helped him run his physio practice.
David qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of Central Lancashire in 2008 and has accumulated experience working with a diverse range of clients in various settings, including The NHS, private practice and elite sport.
In 2016 he graduated from The University of Bath with a Master's Degree in Sports Physiotherapy, and much of his career has been spent working at Blackburn Rovers Football Club.
In 2016 he wanted a change of direction and founded PhysioGo Physiotherapy Clinics.
I started using pen and paper and my online diaries, such as Google Calendar and iCalendar. I then started using a free platform but found that the functionality needed to be improved, and at that time, it didn't fulfil the needs of my practice.
Having 2 locations, I wanted all facets of the clinic, such as appointments, patient records and invoicing, to be managed from one platform.
This would enable us to become paper free and access all the practice information from any location. After scouring the market, I decided that WriteUpp was the best fit for me, and I haven't looked back!
WriteUpp had all of the features that I required and was at a reasonable price. Several particular features sealed it for me.
The mobile app allowed me to make appointments when I was out of the clinic. Also, the Healthcode integration function enables easy submission of invoices to insurance providers.
I wanted to do plenty of research before committing to a particular system, as getting the best out of a system would take some time to get to know the system and set all the features up to work best for my situation.
Once I saw all the features WriteUpp had, how it compared to the competition and the price point, it was an easy decision.
I have been so impressed with WriteUpp from the beginning, but the fact that the system continues to evolve in response to user requests impresses me most.
I like how I can customise the system to work for my situation, for example, creating bespoke forms and tagging them onto emails for clients to complete before attendance.
The integrations with Healthcode and Physitrack are also really useful for me and save me so much time.
The reminder emails and text messages are brilliant and can be triggered and scheduled at certain times, drastically reducing client DNAs.
Overall, this system saves me time, meaning I can focus on other areas of my practice and business. It also conveys a professional image for the practice, and I regularly get comments praising my communication with clients, which WriteUpp automates.
The main thing is the way WriteUpp has allowed me to automate my practice; I don't have to worry about email confirmations and reminders, client forms are sent automatically and then saved on their profile, I can send invoices efficiently and quickly track unpaid items or look at how my practice is performing.
I now have zero paper floating around the clinic, which is space-saving and, more importantly, more secure for data protection.
