“I feel so much more organised!”

Like many other counsellors starting out, Berny supplemented her income with a part-time job and continued volunteering with Cruse and Stockport Women’s Centre. Covid hit in 2020, which had a short-term impact on her practice. She took on additional training to offer e-counselling (telephone, email, video/zoom counselling).

Once the first lockdown eased, clients began contacting her practice for issues such as relationship concerns, anxiety and bereavement.

In July 2020, Berny began counselling for the National Bereavement Partnership Covid-19 Hub, offering to counsel those bereaved during the pandemic, either from Covid-19 or other reasons.

What motivated you to find a practice management system?

Security of data, eliminating paper-based documents, diary management, and professional-looking communication

Is WriteUpp the only practice management software you have used, or did you previously use a different system?

Before using WriteUpp, I maintained paper-based records.

I enquired through some social media groups I am part of and heard about WriteUpp. I signed up for the free trial and quickly felt comfortable using it. It is easy to learn and simple and has helped me be more organised.

What made you choose WriteUpp?

A lot of counsellors I know use it and recommend it.

Did you find it an easy decision, or were there some stumbling blocks or areas of concern for you before subscribing?

No stumbling blocks. Particularly after the opportunity of the free trial, which enabled me to explore the aspects of the system I was interested in.

What would you tell fellow practitioners about WriteUpp if they consider a practice management system?

I tell them it is simple to use, easy to create forms and assessments, straightforward to get signatures, easily accessible via the cloud, secures data, and makes diary management and invoicing easy. It’s helpful to see projected income as well.

How has your working life changed since using WriteUpp?

I feel so much more organised!

Are there any WriteUpp features that benefit you or that you like most?

Being able to produce template letters and the diary is indispensable.

Whenever I have a question or if I can’t find the answer in the FAQs, I use the chat function, and I always get a speedy, helpful response.
